Primavera

La festa di S. Antonio (11 giugno) dà inizio a una serie di feste patronali. Comincia con una lunga processione di persone, cavalli, asini che portano la legna in chiesa; i bambini hanno dei cestini di pane che verrà benedetto dal parroco. Questa è la festa dei fiori.
Successivamente si celebrano le feste della Madonna delle Grazie e della Madonna del Carmine (2 luglio), caratterizzate dalle processioni delle confraternite religiose, dalle feste in piazza e dai fuochi d’artificio.

Estate

La festa di S. Lorenzo (9-10 agosto) viene celebrata con una grande festa campestre: picnic, barbecue, giochi a squadre, e naturalmente la notte tutti a guardare le stelle cadenti. La settimana di ferragosto è caratterizzata dal Catenaccio (14 agosto), una rievocazione del corteo nuziale in costume tipico che culmina con la quadriglia in piazza, e dai fuochi d’artificio (16 agosto) sul lago che offrono sempre un grande spettacolo.
La festa di S. Egidio, con passeggiata all’Eremo, culmina con il gioco del “tiro al gallo”.
La festa del patrono, Sant’Eustachio (17 settembre), sembra quasi segnare la fine dell’estate e l’inizio dell’autunno.

Autunno

Questa è la stagione dei funghi, e della festa di S. Martino (10 novembre) con i suoi grandi fuochi, dei caminetti accesi che profumano tutta l’aria di legna bruciata, della leggera nebbiolina che rende l’atmosfera quasi magica.

Inverno

Il 17 gennaio si celebra la ricorrenza di S. Antonio Barone: di fronte alla chiesa si preparano, in un grande calderone, le sagne con la ricotta, che vengono benedette dal parroco e distribuite a tutti.

Spring

The St. Antonio’s celebration (11th june) gives the start to a series of patronal FESTE. It starts with a long parade of people, horses, donkeys bringing wood to the church; the children instead bring baskets filled with bread to be blessed by the priest. This is the flowers FESTA. Followingly are celebrated the FESTE of Madonna delle Grazie and of Madonna del Carmine, characterized by the parades of the religious Confraternity, the celebrations in the square and the fireworks.

Summer

St. Lorenzo is celebrated (9-10 th august) with a big FESTA in the village: picnics, barbecues, plays and of course watching the falling stars at night! The midaugust week is characterized by the Catenaccio (a memory of the nuptial parade with people wearing the traditional costume CULMINANTE with the dancing of QUADRIGLIA in the square), and the fireworks on the lake, which always offer a great show. The celebration of the patron saint of Scanno, Saint Eustachio, almost seems to sign the end of the summer and the beginning of a mild autumn.

Autumn

This is the season of mushrooms, of the St. Martino FESTA with its big fires, of the wood burning in the fireplaces making the air smell good, of the myst that creates a magic athmosphere.

Winter

On 17th january is celebrated St. Antonio Barone (10th november): in front of the church, in a big pot over a fire, is cooked a soup called sagne e ricotta which, after the blessing are given to all the presents.
